We kicked off the first official day of spring break over eighteen holes of FUN at Island Mini Golf & Games!!
I must remark that this operation is very clean, affordable and well managed. And mini golf is just the beginning of how to while away an afternoon here – there are bumper cars, a bounce house, a little arcade and batting cages to boot. As hard as it is to believe, I was the big mini-golf winner! I’m not sure that I’ve ever “won” a sporting event in my life so allow me this two seconds of resting on my laurels.
Afterwards, we swung through Sonic for vanilla Cokes and milkshakes before heading to the playground near my parent’s house. John dazzled us with his sky-high swinging skills, Mimi showed us the ropes on the zip line-ish equipment and the baby practically had us all barfing on the merry go round (more commonly known as the wheel of death around these parts.)
We wrapped up the day playing in the yard.
That is until Ampa brought out his five foot long snake skin that he found, ohhhhh, approximately two feet from where I was standing earlier in the day. John was duly impressed – stroking and examining the thing inch by inch. I, on the other hand, couldn’t help but think about the creature that left it’s skin behind. UGH.
After baths and a lovely home cooked meal (aren’t those the just the best when you don’t have to cook OR clean??!!?), the littles went to sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow. I’d venture to say spring break is off to a pretty good start!
xoxo
