Back-to-School Eve

We spent our very last day of summer vacation doing kid’s choice on everything from sun up to sun down.  And let me just tell you, they loved ruling the roost for a day.  John made egg in a hole for breakfast and then we scooted out the door to catch Smurfs 2 (much to my delight seeing as the Smurfs were my favorite cartoon as a child.)



After the movie and lunch at home we bee-lined for the pool.  I can always tell when summer’s ending because they start playing out of the water as much as in the water - building forts under the chairs and scrutinizing Pokemon cards with their besties.



After a kid’s choice supper of Bangin Grilled Shrimp and Edamame Fried Rice (I LOVE those boys!), we made s’mores on the porch and tossed around the football.  It was a bittersweet end to summer.  I sure will miss these boys when they are off at school!
