The littles were beyond excited to board the ship – it’s quite impressive and awfully authentic looking!
And finally it was time to set sail! Like last time, the pirates running the show were experts at their trade – friendly, professional and just a whole lot of fun! They keep the little ones completely entertained for the duration of the two hour voyage while the adults sit back and enjoy the view, a little rum punch and some good old music from the likes of Jimmy Buffett.
Things kicked off with a “pirate oath” and first firing off the cannon. And after a good old fashioned water gun fight, the little ones were pressed into service by swabbing the “shark skin” deck.
We were lucky enough to see loads of dolphins while out on the voyage. Some came quite close to the boat!
The littles were all escorted down to the dungeon to receive their pirate hats and face paint. I don’t know about y’all, but I’d be afraid to run across these two scurvy dogs.
After a nail biting sword fight, the band of pirates each had an opportunity to fire the mini cannon.
And finally, the bouy marked with an “x” was spotted and treasure was pulled from the sea! Just after this, the weather took a turn for the worse and the rest of the festivities took place inside the cabin.
It was an exciting and memorable adventure, in spite of the crazy weather at the end. I really cannot say enough good things about it!
I’m going backwards here, but we had great weather for the better part of the day. We spent hours on end at the pool and I finally convinced the littles to trade Sugar Shak for Snoballs :-)
