Happy Easter!

Happy Easter guys, here's a classic story to celebrate! It's 'Oswald the Rabbit' from Dell Comics four Color Comics #623, published in 1955. Of the 1354 issues published by Dell/Western between 1942 and 1962, there were only 20 containing 'Oswald the Rabbit' stories.

This issue contained some black & white gags plus four beautifully drawn shorts: 'A Fine Finish', 'The Mysterious Job', 'Well Posted' and the twelve page 'The Secret of Gloomy Gulch' which I posted below. Script was by Carl Fallberg with art by the great Harvey Eisenberg, who had worked on the Tom & Jerry cartoons for MGM and later did animation and character designs for Hanna-Barbera, when they went into business for themselves. The Cover was done by Lynn Karp, who worked for Disney as an animator on early features, such as 'Fantasia' and 'Bambi'.

Click the pages to enlarge them, if you want to get a real good look at all the great artwork. Hit the 'read more' link at the bottom of the post, to read the complete story!
