She knows very well how to make her fabulous and one of the ways she always does is cutting a new hairstyle. She had once short curly hairstyle and she looked great with it. She let her hair curled to the hair ends and combined the hairstyle with short side bang that was curled as well. This easily made her looked distinctively beautiful and fresh. The hairstyle had also successfully brought her true personality, an active girl who loves to be a bad girl sometimes. So, if your face profile is similar to her, consider getting what Rihanna once had.

Pixar Confirms Nemo Sequel

It's official... Disney and Pixar have announced that Finding Nemo's long-rumored follow-up is now actually happening. No, it isn't Finding Nemo "2"... Instead, it's...

*cue the drumroll*

The sequel is scheduled to open on November 25, 2015. For a while, I've been wondering what that cryptic untitled Pixar project that was scheduled for release that day would turn out to be. Looks like my fifth theory came true! Will this be the first time Pixar will release two films in one year? Maybe, I can't see them moving the sequel just yet, though every time it seems like Pixar will release two films a year, it does not happen. Well, we'll see.

Set one year after its predecessor, Finding Dory will be set off of the coast of California and will be about Dory reuniting with her family. Director Andrew Stanton explained, "One thing we could not stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In Finding Dory she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way."

Come to think of it, we didn't know much about Dory's beginnings in the first film or anything about her life before she met Marlin. That doesn't harm the film's story in any way, but I think her backstory is something worth diving into for a sequel. This is why I think this sequel has a lot of potential, despite what people may think. Toy Story 2 did the impossible and equalled the high quality of its predecessor, but also fleshing out characters we already came to know and love. I expect this film to do the same for Dory. I'm not saying that she needed a backstory detailed in Finding Nemo, but it is a fantastic and potentially very heartfelt idea for a sequel. No searching for someone who is lost, but rather a spiritual journey.

This is why I'm not too worried about this project. Yes, it could turn out to be a disaster but you got to give Pixar credit. All of their sequels aren't rehashes of their predecessors. Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 expanded upon the characters while taking them to new locations. Cars 2 took the Radiator Springs gang around the world and gave us a spy story. At least this isn't about finding Nemo again, I knew the folks at Pixar would not go this route for the sequel.

Of course, many will immediately freak out over this... Not in a good way, though. People will keep being pessimistic about the future of Pixar and will immediately write this sequel off as a shameless cash cow. Finding Dory exists for a reason... Not because Pixar is out of ideas. They have five original productions in the pipeline, and this is the only sequel/prequel/spin-off after Monsters University hits theaters in June. No, Finding Dory mostly exists because of the whole Circle 7 issue...

Before Disney acquired Pixar in 2006, Disney under Michael Eisner (prior to his resignation in late 2005) commissioned sequels to Pixar's films. They were to be produced by a newly-formed studio called Circle 7 Animation. At the time, it seemed likely that Pixar and Disney were going to split, and that the last Pixar film released by Disney would be Cars. Of course, they would own the rights to all the films and characters from Toy Story to Cars. Disney was also making direct-to-video sequels to their own films, only just to cash in on them. Their sequels to Pixar films were no different.

Three sequels made it into the development phase with screenplays prepared.

Toy Story 3: This is the one where Buzz Lightyear gets recalled, which evolved out of a story where the toy gang are sent to Andy's grandmother's house. This one was famous because the plot details were revealed back in the day, and it was apparent that the film would debut in 2008.

Monsters, Inc. 2: Mike and Sulley want to visit Boo after many years have passed. They go through her door to see that she has moved, so they find themselves looking for her in the human world.

Finding Nemo 2: A screenplay was written, but no details have been revealed. I assume that some will surface sometime soon.

So after Disney bought Pixar, Pixar essentially had to "overwrite" these three films that were close to actually being made. In early 2006, Circle 7 Animation was shut down and Pixar started work on their own Toy Story 3... The result was a masterpiece!

Next, they had to do a Monsters, Inc. follow-up. They went the prequel route, which is why Monsters University was made... Plus Pixar had kicked around some ideas for a follow-up for a while. We don't know whether it'll be good or bad, mediocre or average. All we know is that it's coming in two months.

Finding Dory completes this sort of trio of sequels that Pixar ultimately had to do, so after it's released they won't have to do any more. They can do a sequel if they want to or not. For example, Brad Bird can do an Incredibles follow-up if he has the desire to do one. The same goes for all the studio's other films. But we know Pixar, and we know that they wouldn't just announce millions of sequels out the wazoo. Skeptics want to believe that, but I feel that these skeptics don't know why Cars 2Monsters University and Finding Dory happened/are happening in the first place. They may say "Pixar is out of ideas", but that's not the reason... If they are, explain those five upcoming original productions.

Any further news surrounding this film will be swamped with doubt, but a lot of general audiences are going to love the sound of "A Finding Nemo sequel is coming". Ellen DeGeneres herself is beyond excited for it, and I already see enthusiasm from the folks at Pixar. Lee Unkrich excitedly announced it, too!

Finding Dory can be a great sequel. You never know. We can be a bit skeptical... After all, the original is so great. The sequel does have a lot to live up to. But Toy Story 2 did it, and Toy Story 3 did it! Monsters University may do it too! Leave Cars 2 out of this or any of the recent production problems that surrounded that film and Brave. I'm optimistic for this sequel, though I do realize that it could be a disappointment. Again, you never know... It could be very well be another rare sequel that equals the original.

Hanging Plates

One of the things I get asked more often than anything else on this blog is “how do you hang your plates?”  (As opposed to the “why do we hang all of our plates?" question I get at home from Honey.)  It’s so easy and it occurred to me the other day that I ought to just go ahead and tell all.

I always use these OOK hangers from Home Depot.  They are a few dollars a piece and include everything – even the hook and nail!  They come in a few different sizes and I find it helpful to just take a plate to the store with me, slip the hanger off the card and give it a try before buying.  (This is after a few failed attempts at measuring the plates.)

photo 2 (33)

They hook across the back of the plate like this.  I’ve never had any damage to the plate and I’ve never had one fall off the wall.  For oyster plates, I attach the hangers at different angels on each plate for a more fluid and natural grouping once hung.

photo 4 (19)

And this is all you see on the front side of the plate – the little hooks peeking over.  On the OOK brand, the metal that wraps around the front of the plate is covered in plastic so as to not damage the plate.

photo 3 (27)

These are a few of my favorite Oysteria plates that I just hung up in the living room after unearthing them from the closet.  More on that real soon!!!

And that’s it!  Happy plate hanging, y’all!

A "Tom and Jerry" Update

Warner Bros. might be listening to us animation fans after all...

Of course, as many of you may know, Tom and Jerry Golden Collection Volume Two was to arrive to stores this summer but without two controversial cartoons: Mouse Cleaning and Casanova Cat. This was, of course, contradictory to the fact that the series was aimed at the adult collector and not for children, and that the series would contain all of the short subjects uncut. A representative for WB went as far as justifying the removal of the two cartoons on WB Classic Animation's Facebook page, saying that they were "inappropriate" for the "intended audience" - the adult collector. We sure got angry. Blog posts, forum posts and even close to 100 one-star reviews of the forthcoming set on Amazon.com ensued... Us animation fans weren't going to be robbed like this, especially after what we got with the excellent first volume.

What we know so far is that a higher up in Warner Bros.' legal department doesn't want these two shorts released in any form, not even through the WB Archive! Apparently this person has been there for a while and has something against these cartoons, I mean... Why else would Warner Bros. release equally controversial and potentially offensive cartoons in the Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies and Popeye series on home media formats whilst keeping these two and the Censored 11 locked up?

All hope seemed lost. It looked like we were not going to get these two uncensored cartoons on Blu-ray and DVD in the United States, but... TV Shows On DVD has confirmed that Warner Bros. has postponed the second volume of this series! This makes sense, because Home Theater Forum owner Ronald Epstein collected questions from animation aficionados and sent them to Warner Bros. Apparently they had a meeting about these cartoons, so maybe the postponement of this set may bring good things. However, we can't get our hopes up too high... Yet.

Anything can happen now...

Here's my theory: Warner Bros. (or more specifically, that person in their legal department) will drop all of this opposition to Mouse Cleaning and Casanova Cat. Thus, those two cartoons will be added to the line-up and the packaging will be altered. It'll say 44 shorts instead of 42, or the last 2 cartoons on the set (chronologically) - Puppy Tale and Posse Cat - will be left off for time constraints and will be the opening shorts on the third Golden Collection volume. The liner notes will mention both formerly missing cartoons. This is of course the win-win situation, the one everyone hopes will happen. Well, it better happen!

Why do I think it might happen? Well, WB announced that the set was postponed after those questions were sent... Plus it came off of a slew of negative reactions. I haven't seen such reaction to a home media release in a long while. Tom and Jerry Golden Collection Volume One has less than 40 reviews in total on Amazon.com, Tom and Jerry Golden Collection Volume Two has nearly 100 one-star reviews warning consumers to stay away from the butchered set whilst also calling WB out for their unnecessary censoring of a set that's meant for adults.

Also, WB can't just re-insert the shorts between now and June 11th, or make liner notes mentioning them. It's also possible that Mouse Cleaning and/or Casanova Cat had audio commentaries, so it'll take some time to put those back in as well. So maybe the delay does mean that WB gets it.

Now it's also possible that we will end up getting the butchered set later this year, which would only anger fans more resulting in a bigger backlash. The fans are now willing to give WB a chance to correct the mistakes they have made, and to not omit Mouse Cleaning and Casanova Cat from this set. If a new announcement for the set shows that the two cartoons won't be in the line-up... Well then, expect more heat, WB! And weaker sales, too!

Right now, we have no clear idea why the set was postponed. All we can do is speculate right now, but personally, I'm going to try to be optimistic here and believe that WB delayed the set to do the right thing: Include Mouse Cleaning and Casanova Cat, and never attempt to censor this set or any forthcoming adult collector set (whether it's Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies or Popeye) ever again.

Hopefully everything will turn out alright. If Tom and Jerry Golden Collection Volume Two arrives to stores complete and uncensored with Mouse Cleaning and Casanova Cat, then... Immediate sale!

Going from the silly descriptions, they placed their orders for all four courses at the beginning of the meal.  They had to get each item one time and couldn’t have any repeats.

I had prepared everything earlier in the day and had it in the kitchen in covered dishes.  It was a little crazy the first go round, but once I figured out my system it went pretty quickly.

Honey, ever the puzzler, did pretty well with his selections.  His first course consisted of rabbit rations (lettuce), pre-pickle (cucumber), skinny dip (dressing), a debris duster (napkin) and a canoodle (spoon).  He didn’t order anything to drink though!

Most of the courses were much more hysterical.  A few of my favorites were this one …

When served on a regular day, the supper would consist of salad, ham, potatoes, broccoli and strawberry shortcake.

It was a crazy fun evening and one we’ll definitely do again.  I mean, they’ve already asked for a repeat tomorrow night, for crying out loud!

I can’t take credit for thinking up this silly supper idea.  I originally read about the Fool’s Cafe on the My Insanity blog last year.  I loved it so much that I made a note on my calendar so I wouldn’t forget.

I hope y’all had a fun April Fool’s Day.  It’s just the sort of holiday we love celebrating around these parts.  And with everyone finally well and the gorgeous spring weather, it was triple the fun!!

Long Curly Hairstyles with Layers

What should you do to have different hair ends at the curls? The answer is simple. Cut some layers. Indeed, layers help creating edgy hair ends and curls so that the hair will be definitely flawless and not boring. Even more, layers also offer thinner hair’s look so they are great for thick hair. Combining them with fringe or side bangs is another smart idea. It beautifully frames the face profile and helps balancing the cuts. The curls itself are better to be in medium or big size so that the hair may fall naturally. If the curls are too small, they are going to make the hair too thick and this is not a good one to choose. Get some nice hair accessories to have nicer result.
